Bank of America Charitable Foundation Provides More Than 1,770 Meals

Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently presented a check to Meals on Wheels of Greenville to provide more than 1,770 frozen evening and weekend meals to qualifying Meals on Wheels clients.

This is the third consecutive year Bank of America has provided funding for this program, donating $25,500 since 2014.

“Though Meals on Wheels provides daily, hot meals to Greenville’s homebound, many of our clients have trouble purchasing and cooking food for evening and weekend meals,” said Lorain Crowl, Director of Development for Meals on Wheels. “This much needed funding will help us provide food for our clients in crisis.”

“Our longstanding grant giving and volunteer partnership with Meals on Wheels is one of several ways that Bank of America is able to address the critical issue of food insecurity that is far too pervasive across our state. Combating hunger is essential to making our community more vibrant and sustainable,” said Stacy Brandon, Greenville market president for Bank of America.

Meals on Wheels enhances the quality of life of homebound individuals by providing nutritious meals, personal interaction and independence. Each day, caring volunteers serve nearly 1,500 hot, nutritious meals to homebound individuals throughout Greenville County. Founded in 1968, Meals on Wheels has delivered more than 11 million meals in its 47 years. For more information call 864.233.6565 or go to www.MealsonWheelsGreenville.org.
