ARTISPHERE Needs Volunteers for 2008 Festival

It's almost time for ARTISPHERE, and the festival needs volunteers! This performing and visual arts extravaganza, set this year for April 18 through 20, is located in downtown's beautiful West End Historic District on Main Street and into Falls Park on the Reedy, from the Peace Center to the Governor's School. This event will allow 9 non-profit organizations to share in part of the profits from this event by recruiting volunteers who help throughout the festival. Individual, families, groups or companies can consider sponsoring an organization through volunteering. Please register as a volunteer via www.mainstevents.com under volunteer opportunities. After receiving your password, you will be able to log in our volunteer database to select a date & time to volunteer.

Artisphere volunteer job descriptions are as follows:
- Area Captains – Will be responsible for the volunteers working in a specific area, including check-in. Age Requirement: 21
- Ticket Captain – Will be responsible to over see a specific ticket location. Need experience handling money, reconciling and supervising. Age Requirement: 21
- Ticket Sellers – Will sell tickets to purchase food and beverages. Age Requirement: 17
- Wristband Sellers – Will check ID’s and verify that they are of legal age to consume alcohol. Age Requirement: 18
- Beer Servers – Will serve beer and wine to the public. Age Requirement: 21
- Soda/Water Servers – Will serve Coke to the public. Age Requirement: 14 or younger with an adult
- Booth Sitters – Will serve as booth sitters and runners for the artists. Age Requirement: 17
- Runners – Will assist staff with various duties - assigned to captains & volunteer HQ. Age Requirement: 14 (volunteer HQ) 16 (Area runner)
- Artist Hospitality Tent: Greet Artist; Check passes; Bus tables; clear trash from floor; Age Requirement: 21
- VIP Hospitality Tent: Greet Sponsors; Check passes; Bus tables; clear trash from floor; Serve beer to the patrons. Age Requirement: 21
