Class of 2017 Receives $128 Million in College Scholarship Offers

Greenville County Schools’ Class of 2017, with more than 4,200 graduates, received more than $128 million in college scholarship offers.

GCS seniors have earned more than $588.3 million in scholarships over the past five years.

Scholarship offers include $35.9 million in Legislative Incentive for Future Excellence (LIFE) Scholarships and $11.9 million in Palmetto Fellows scholarships. Both LIFE and Palmetto Fellows scholarships are merit-based programs.

Additionally, graduates received $8.1 million in athletic scholarship offers and $2.3 million in military college offers.

GCS graduates have been accepted into prestigious colleges and universities in South Carolina and across the nation, including Brown, Clemson, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Emory, Furman, Georgetown, Princeton, University of South Carolina, University of Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Wofford.
