2017 Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive

Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive kicks off the weekend every Thursday night with music at NOMA Square on Main Street. The 2017 Downtown Alive season concludes August 31st.

More than 45,000 people attend this event annually. The event serves as the single largest fundraiser for the Metropolitan Arts Council. Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 8:30 p.m. Bands play two sets at 5:50 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. on the Rowdy Gents Stage.

The August 24th concert features the Jef Chandler Band. Drawing inspiration from artists like Paul Simon, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, and The Beatles, Jef Chandler is an eclectic singer/songwriter from Greenville, SC, whom Mike Miller of The State in Columbia, SC describes as a writer who records exquisite stories told with a clarity of insight and a wry sense of humor. He has been writing songs, playing in bands and performing live since he first picked up the guitar at the age of 12. In that time he has released 3 solo albums, 2 albums with the acoustic band Big Brown Bowl, and 3 with The Bad Popes.

Join us every week through August 31st as downtown comes alive!
